Design
It can take thousands of crossed out pencil strokes, dozens, if not hundreds of dismissed sketches and months of research and studying of source material to turn a simple idea into an actual, fully thought-out concept.
Meticulous handcraft
Once an idea has been fully worked out, one must tackle the technical aspects. How to turn a two-dimensional sketch into a tangible, physical object requires the skill of a trained craftsperson, or multiple. Any metal parts are diligently, caringly molten, forged, shaped, and polished by the goldsmith herself, allowing her to apply all the techniques and Fingerspitzengefühl she honed during the years of her training.
Collaboration
To know your strengths means to recognise the strengths in others. We are excited to be working in close collaboration with the Dutch pen company Giants’ Pens, who are excellent, young creatives in their fields of pen turning and material casting. With their help we are able to bring our most impossible ideas into existence.
Since 2018, Anabelle has also worked closely with Appelboom, a popular specialty store for writing instruments based in Laren, NL and Boston, USA.
